Athabasca Potash Inc. (API) is actively advancing the company's wholly owned Burr Project. The Burr Project is located 107 kilometers east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and is adjacent to the PotashCorp Lanigan Mine, one of the largest operating mines in the world. The company has completed the geological exploration on the Burr Project and SNC-Lavalin has been engaged to provide their engineering services along with other consultants for a Prefeasibility Study.

API continues to work on completing a 2.0 million tonnes per year pre-feasibility study report for a low operating cost conventional potash mine and has opted to also complete an order of magnitude evaluation on the Burr Project at 3.0 million tonnes and 4.0 million tonnes of product per year.

In early 2008, API initiated Environmental Impact Studies to appraise the environmental and socio-economic conditions of the Burr Project in order to evaluate and provide mitigation measures for the potential impacts of construction and operations on the project site and surrounding area.

The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was conducted according to Project Specific Guidelines (PSGs) issued in July, 2008 by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment (MOE). The EIS was submitted to the MOE for review in August 2009, making the Burr Project the first EIS to be submitted to the Government of Saskatchewan for a greenfield potash mine in many decades. API continues to demonstrate its leadership in its efforts to develop a new potash mine in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Resource Estimate
The Burr Project's targeted mining members, including both the Upper ("UPL") and Lower ("LPL") Sub-Members, contains a Measured Mineral Resource of 125,800,000 tonnes at a grade of 21.27% K2O, an Indicated Mineral Resource of 299,000,000 tonnes at a grade of 23.07 % K2O, and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 186,900,000 tonnes  at a grade of 23.55% K2O.

The potash wells have all encountered stable overlying rocks which are an important consideration for reasonable prospects of economic extraction. The geological setting and favourable mineralization shown at the Burr Project are consistent with characteristics of existing Saskatchewan potash mines.

API is a Canadian based corporation and was founded with a goal of establishing itself as a preeminent Canadian public company engaged solely in potash exploration and development with focus on the Company's wholly owned Burr Project, and to provide its shareholders with a unique investment opportunity focused entirely on potash. Athabasca holds 23 potash exploration permits on about 1,700,000 acres in Saskatchewan.
